Equipment We Help With

Children Today relies entirely on voluntary donations.  We receive no funding from the government or NHS.  It is donations made by our supporters which enable us to provide specialised equipment such as:

• Electric wheelchairs – individually adapted to give maximum independence
• Walking Aids
• Trikes
• Educational toys – specially designed for children with disabilities
• A wide range of communication aids
• Adapted car seats
• Lifting aids to enable movement
• Posturepedic sleep equipment

These items and many more specialised aids are designed to improve and enhance the lives of children and young people with disabilities, helping them to become as independent as possible and to reach their potential.

If you would like to apply for a grant, please call us on 01244 335622.  Applications must be for specialised pieces of equipment for individual children (not groups or schools) and must be made by the individual applying, their parent, or legal guardian.

Computer Equipment

The Aidis Trust is a Registered Charity that was established in 1975. They provide FREE services to help disabled people overcome the barriers to accessing computers and technology. With their knowledge and experience they will be able to offer FREE advice and assistance in identifying the computer most suited to your child’s needs.

Through their Helpline they provide the following support - 

• Give disabled people throughout the UK impartial and practical advice on equipment to help them use computers.
• Technical support helpline
• Give individuals remote one-to-one computer training for disabled people and those who care for them using a remote support link via the Internet.
