Thumbs Up for Shauna's New Trike

Nine year old Shauna has spastic paraplegia which means she has difficulties with balance and coordination. Her family applied to Children Today for a specialised tricycle. Her application was supported by her physiotherapist, who advised that the trike would offer Shauna an important opportunity to improve her fitness, coordination, core stability and muscle strength. The trike would also enable Shauna to independently play with her friends and engage in family activities helping to boost her self confidence.


Shauna has recently received her equipment and wrote the following letter to us -
