Coronavirus Covid-19 update

Written by Emma on 27th March 2020
Dear all,

I hope that your families and loved ones are keeping well during this very challenging time.

Our reduced freedoms will impact us all in so many different ways. We are determined to play our part in ensuring our staff and supporters are safe and that our wonderful charity is able to continue its vital support of children and families.

The extraordinary speed at which Coronavirus has impacted us requires us to make extraordinary changes to our normal activities. We depend solely on voluntary income. That means we function through the generosity of our supporters through individual gifts and events.

Sadly, we are bound to be affected and reduced income will mean less children being helped and less families supported. Cancellation and rescheduling of events has taken place. We will be active in trying to find alternative sources of income and I’m sure our dedicated and loyal supporters will join us in trying to bridge a potential gap.

However, due to the difficult situation our charity finds itself in currently, we are working with reduced staff levels. Whilst we are still accepting applications, we want to make applicants aware that there will be a significant delay in processing your application. We appreciate your patience during these difficult times.

We will come through this because of the commitment of our supporters, our donors, our family champions and our committed staff. Together we will continue to support children and young people with disabilities. We will be changing lives for a better tomorrow. Thank you for your continued – and much-needed – support and hope you can bear with us at this very difficult time.

Take care and stay safe,
Hugh

Please note the below for other information that may be useful:

– Our Head Office will only be manned intermittently due to reduced staff levels so for any enquiries please leave a message on 01244 335622 and your enquiry will be directed to the correct member of staff who will then get back to you.

– Donations are also still being taken, although due to reduced staff levels it may take slightly longer for your donation to be processed

– Applications already received are still going through our grants application process, though please note there may be a delay with hearing from us

– In order to safeguard our volunteers and shoppers, sadly our charity shop in Bolton is closed until further notice.
