If you were visiting the Freshwater Road area in Barking & Dagenham on St George’s Day, you may have been lucky enough to spot a dragon at the N&C Family Fun Day!  For the fifth year running, our corporate supporter Nicholls & Clarke (N&C Building Materials) hosted this community event to raise funds for Children Today.

Led by N&C Group Chief Executive, David Forbes, the enthusiastic staff at the DIY and trade superstore arranged a series of free activities and fair rides for local families to enjoy.  This year was a special celebration as the company celebrates 140 years of supplying building materials to businesses in London and nationwide.

Chief Executive David Forbes told us: ‘Throughout history, St George’s Day has been an important day of celebration in Barking & Dagenham, so we want to help keep the community spirit alive through a series of free themed activities, a variety of stalls, food and much more!  All proceeds from the day will be donated to Children Today, a charity that helps local families with disabled children in need of specialised equipment.’

We would like to thank everyone at N&C for working so hard to put together a great event that not only raises vital funds for Children Today, but is also an opportunity to speak to local visitors about the charity and raise awareness about the work we do.
