Written by Lexi Heselwood on 1st July 2024

Children Today  has received a vital boost from Deva Masonic Lodge No 3447 thanks to a £625 donation from the group.

We are delighted to have been chosen by Deva Masonic Lodge, which is based in Christleton, to receive the award.

In addition, the Deva Masonic Lodge has given the charity an extra boost with the presentation of a £100 gift voucher for Clarks shoe retailer to be used as a raffle prize, to help raise more funds.

Emma Prescott, charity director at Children Today comments:

“We’re extremely grateful for the support from the Deva Masonic Lodge. It’s becoming increasingly challenging to raise sufficient funds while more and more families who need our support, so donations like these go a long way to helping children and families who so desperately need our help.”

The funds will be used to continue supporting disabled children and their families, with life-changing adapted equipment – including but not limited to adapted trikes, adapted buggies and sensory equipment – and support services.

Emma continues:

“The additional cost associated with raising a child with a disability combined with a cost-of-living crisis means that so often families are unable to afford vital equipment that can be transformational for a disabled child, and often the wider family too.

“An adapted buggy or adapted trike can be a lifeline to spending more time together as a family outdoors and provide essential exercise. While sensory equipment can help a child to manage and self-regulate behaviour, which in turn can have a huge impact on family dynamics. It cannot be underestimated how important having the right equipment is.”
