Samantha Lee, Corporate & Events Fundraiser at Children Today, comments: “Our Christmas at the Cathedral event was a fabulously festive evening, enjoyed by all and we’re delighted to have raised vital funds to help children and young people achieve their full potential.

“The total raised is enough money to fund at least four specialist adapted buggies, which will give the gift of the freedom to families this Christmas. These buggies enable families to get out and about together and maybe take a Boxing Day stroll, for instance, which many of us may take for granted but are not possible for those requiring expensive, specialist equipment.”

A Handbag of Harmonies, led by Matt Baker, entertained guests with Christmas favourites, including The 12 Days of Christmas and Deck the Halls, along with a few less traditional anthems including Bat out of Hell!

Diana Schofield, Secretary at Handbag of Harmonies, comments: “Children Today’s Christmas at the Cathedral event was a wonderful, Christmassy carolling evening of good cheer and singing in the atmospheric Chester Refectory. It was a beautiful setting, lovely audience and a ‘Five Gold Rings’ to remember, complete with nine dancing ladies in the audience!

“Thank you for inviting A Handbag of Harmonies and our sparkly bags, feather boas, lights and all to entertain everyone for such a great cause.”

Samantha added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you our main sponsors, Quilter Private Client Advisors, the individual carol and prize sponsors, including ChloBo, who donated more than £200 worth of jewellery.

“The location was exquisite and we hope to see this event become an annual occasion and look forward to seeing even more people there next year!”
