A team of intrepid walkers from Preston-based R&G Fluid Power Group recently raised over £4,800 in aid of Children Today.

The team from R&G Fluid Power Group completed the challenge in under 12 hours
A dedicated team from R&G Fluid Power Group took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge—a gruelling 24-mile hike that covers the three highest peaks in Yorkshire: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough.
The team of 21 employees completed the challenge in under 12 hours, all while raising funds for Children Today, a charity that supports disabled children across the UK.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a tough physical feat, but the team was motivated by a cause close to their hearts.

Employees from R&G fluid Power Group took on the 24-mile hike that covers the three highest peaks in Yorkshire: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough.
Andrew Cotterill, Merseyflex limited technical director at R&G Fluid Power Group, which specialises in the supply of hose, hydraulics, pneumatics, engineering and sealing products for industrial applications worldwide, said:
“Children Today makes an incredible difference in the lives of disabled children and their families, and we’re honoured to be part of that mission.
“We knew it would be a challenge and we were keen to push ourselves physically for such a worthy cause, but I think everyone was surprised just how demanding a feat it was. We had people on the team who’ve taken part in marathons and the Iron Man challenge, who agreed it’s the toughest challenge they’ve undertaken! It’s all worth it though to know that our efforts will make a difference to the lives of young disabled people and their families.”
Every donation made towards the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge will go directly towards funding this life-changing equipment.
Emma Prescott, charity director at Children Today, adds:
“We’re very grateful to the team from R&G for choosing to help us in our mission to support disabled children and young adults. An incredible amount of money has already been raised, which could go towards items like adapted trikes or adapted buggies, transforming the lives of disabled children and their families by giving them the freedom and opportunity to share more quality time together.”
