Description: Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon – the world’s biggest ever marathon!

We’re excited to announce that Children Today has a number of places on this year’s Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon which will be taking place on Sunday 3rd October 2021. 

This year’s event is set to break the world record for the biggest ever staged marathon – with a breathtaking 100,000 runners set to take part, and you could be one of them!

This is the first time that our small charity has had confirmed spaces on the world-renowned event and we’re looking for participants to fill the three spaces we have and take on the marathon virtually, wherever you are in the world. 

Run, jog, push, walk – whatever you choose, complete the marathon your way, as long as it’s within 24 hours – that means you can take lots of breathers!

Some creative ideas for how you can personalise the marathon your way:

• Participate as a family or with a group of friends and walk the 26.2 miles together 
• Get dropped off 26.2 miles from home and make your own way back and arrive to a hero’s welcome 
• Share the experience by completing each mile with a different family member or friend
• Completing the marathon dressed up in your whackiest fancy dress costumes 
• Creating a course that visits the homes of family and friends – with outdoor drinks stations set up for a refuel and a chat 

The team behind the Virgin Money London Marathon want every participant to enjoy it to the full and create just as much excitement around the race as if they were doing the real thing in England’s capital city. 

Event registration has completely sold out to the public – so this is the perfect opportunity to get involved while raising money which will fund much-needed pieces of specialised equipment.

The money raised by you will allow us to continue supporting children and young people with disabilities across the UK who are in desperate need for vital pieces of adapted equipment.
